As the founder and principal consultant of Englobe Inc., a Seattle-based consultancy for global content strategy, Kate is a unique hybrid of a private-sector geographer, writer, and consultant on content culturalization. Formerly as Microsoft's geopolitical strategist in the Geopolitical Strategy team (a position and team she created and managed), Kate was responsible for protecting the company against geopolitical and cultural content errors across all products and locales. Between 1995 and 2005, she performed a モgeopolitical quality reviewヤ on nearly every Microsoft PC and Xbox game, including Halo 1 & 2, Fable, Age of Empires and many others. Since leaving Microsoft, she has worked for several clients such as Microsoft, Google, TomTom and EA/BioWare and on numerous game titles, including Dragon Age 1 & 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Ninja Gaiden II and Dance Central 1 & 2. Kate is also a columnist for MultiLingual Computing, sheメs the founder and chair of the Game Localization Special Interest Group in the International Game Developers Association, and she also is the co-organizer of the Game Localization Summit at the annual Game Developers Conference.
